The re-evaluation of health risks posed by PFAS by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and a statement from the Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) highlight the urgent need for limits for these potentially carcinogenic substances. Since January 1, 2023, the limits included in Regulation (EC) 1881/2006 for selected animal products like eggs, fish, and meat apply to PFAS.
