Preservative efficacy testing of cosmetics

In the state-of-the-art microbiology laboratory of BAV Institute, numerous tests are conducted on cosmetic end products as well as raw materials to meet the requirements of Regulation (EC) 1223/2009. The clients are the cosmetic industry, contract manufacturers, and retailers.  

BAV has particular expertise and many years of experience in testing the sufficient preservation of products, conducted with the so-called Preservation Challenge Test (abbreviated: PCT). This test is usually conducted according to the ISO 11930 standard.

In 2021, we were able to conduct more than 10,000 of such tests for our customers quickly and reliably. This makes us proud, and we want to thank all our customers and partners for this trust in our work.

With this number of tests, BAV Institute is certainly one of the leading testing laboratories in the German-speaking region and Europe.

Furthermore, with these tests as well as many other microbiological tests in our accredited and GMP-certified laboratory, we contribute significantly to product and consumer protection.
