Thiazolinones as preservatives, like other preservatives, are regulated in Annex V of the European Cosmetics Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009. Due to the allergenic potential of this class of substances, their use in cosmetics has been greatly restricted in recent years. Use in leave-on products has not been allowed since the beginning of the year.
