The current figures from IKW (German Cosmetic, Toiletry, Perfumery and Detergent Association) for the first quarter of 2018 show that quality and safety of cosmetics pay off. Consumers spent a total of 2.7 billion euros on beauty care products from January to March 2018 (an increase of 2.2 percent compared to the previous year). The biggest growth driver here is hair care. The export of German cosmetics providers also increased, currently amounting to 3.2 billion euros, a rise of 3.5 percent compared to the previous year.
