In the USA, there has been a widespread recall of flour and flour products from the company General Mills. 10 million pounds of flour have already been recalled. Some individuals became ill with diarrhea and vomiting due to Shiga toxin-producing E. coli (STEC). During questioning, it was found that all the sick people had consumed raw dough or raw pasta. Flour from General Mills was identified as the source. The FDA (American Safety Authority) therefore warns consumers not to consume raw dough made from untreated flour. (Source: www.stern.de)
