Recalls in the Safety Gate Portal Cosmetics - August 2024

The rapid alert system Safety Gate of the EU provides information about potentially harmful cosmetics that do not comply with the Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009.

A total of 336 products were classified as "serious risk" in the month of August.

Reasons for this were:

• Prohibited fragrance Butylphenyl Methylpropional (Lilial / BMHCA) -> 334 reports
• Microbiological contamination with Rhizopus spp. and Aspergillus sp.
• Increased total germ count and yeasts & molds, non-compliance with ISO 17516

In Safety Gate, filtering by type of product, publication date, and type of recall (microbiological/chemical) is possible.
