Another Europe-wide Listeriosis Outbreak

Cold-smoked or marinated salmon are the probable source of an outbreak caused by Listeria monocytogenes. By October 2018, twelve cases had been reported in connection with EU countries Denmark, France, and Germany, including four deaths.

The probable cause of these illnesses is salmon products contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes from a Polish processing plant.
