Reevaluation of Glyphosate-Containing Plant Protection Products - In BAV Newsletter 01/2014

Glyphosate is one of the most widely used active substances in pesticides worldwide, both for weed control and for pre-harvest treatment during grain ripening. A recent reevaluation found no indications of health risks from glyphosate. Only the so-called co-formulants, such as surfactants, have a sometimes higher toxicity than the actual active substance. This should be taken into account in future approvals.
