Relevant standards for cosmetic product development: DIN EN ISO 11930 and DIN EN ISO 29621

Both standards are of great importance in the context of product development and safety assessment of cosmetics, especially since DIN EN ISO 11930:2012 also contains specific guidelines for conducting and evaluating preservative efficacy tests.

The key contents of DIN EN ISO 11930:2012 are:

• Testing methods for conducting a preservative efficacy test
• Evaluation criteria for preservative efficacy tests
• Procedures for assessing the antimicrobial protection of a cosmetic product
