Report of the Results of Food Monitoring in Baden-Württemberg from 2017
In 2017, food inspections in Baden-Württemberg conducted 111,007 inspection visits in 78,296 businesses.
Some results are summarized below:
- In 27% of the inspected businesses, violations were identified.
- The majority of violations related to hygiene deficiencies (72%), followed by inadequate labeling and presentation (25%).
- 717 businesses (2016: 848) had to be immediately closed due to prevailing unhygienic conditions.
- In 2017, the Chemical and Veterinary Investigation Offices (CVUA) examined 42,635 food samples (2016: 43,162) and 1,663 wines (2016: 1,894) using sensory, chemical, physical, and microbiological methods as part of official food monitoring - 8,190 samples (18.5%) were criticized (2016: 17.9%).
