As in Germany, Campylobacteriosis has been the most frequently reported zoonotic disease in Switzerland for many years. Salmonellosis ranks second, which has been increasing compared to the previous year for years. This negative trend in salmonellosis was also observed in the EU countries in 2017.

Further information on these outbreaks and other diseases such as listeriosis, STEC/VTEC/EHEC infections can be found in the report of the Federal Office for Food Safety and Veterinary Affairs (BLV) from Bern.

In our laboratory, we regularly conduct testing for Campylobacter spp., Salmonella, Listeria monocytogenes, and STEC/VTEC.
In 2017, we tested over 100,000 food samples for these zoonotic agents and other microorganisms. We provide you with fast and reliable results.

Our customer advisors are happy to assist you with any questions.
