Revised version of the toolbox for acrylamide
At the end of March, the 15th edition of the Acrylamide Toolbox was published by the European umbrella organization FoodDrinkEurope.
The toolbox serves as a toolkit for food companies and aims to help them, through brief descriptions, reduce the formation of acrylamide in affected foods. The most important changes in the 15th edition included the differentiation of suitable tools for the food categories "potato-based snacks" (e.g., potato chips) and "French fries and other cut (frozen) potato products". Furthermore, "coffee and coffee substitutes (based on cereals and chicory)" were divided into two separate food categories.
