Safety Report Cosmetics and Regulatory Affairs – Your Partner for Legally Compliant Cosmetic Products
The safety of cosmetic products is at the heart of the European Cosmetics Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009. As an experienced partner, the BAV Institute provides comprehensive support to manufacturers, brands, and importers in all matters related to Regulatory Affairs, Product Safety, and legally compliant market approval of cosmetics in the EU and Switzerland.
The Safety Report - Basis for the Sale of Cosmetic Products
The safety report for cosmetics (CPSR - Cosmetic Product Safety Report) is a central component of the EU Cosmetics Regulation and a legal requirement for placing cosmetic products on the market. It documents that a product is safe for human health when used under normal conditions – and is therefore a crucial tool for consumer protection.
The CPSR consists of two parts:
- Part A: Safety information such as composition, physical-chemical properties, and microbiological quality
- Part B: Product safety assessment and qualification of the assessor
Without a properly prepared safety report, a cosmetic product may not be sold. The "responsible person" is required to maintain this report at all times.
