Salmonella detected in turkey and poultry merguez
The Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office (FSVO) informs about the occurrence of salmonella in turkey and poultry merguez. A health risk cannot be excluded. The FSVO recommends not consuming the affected product.
Health risk:
Salmonella are bacteria that can cause illness in humans and animals. In humans, fever, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain may occur within 6 to 72 hours after consumption. Individuals who have consumed the product are advised to seek medical advice if the symptoms mentioned appear.
Recommendations for consumers:
- Do not consume: The affected product should not be consumed.
- Symptoms: Seek medical advice if symptoms occur.
