Salmonella in peaches
Last month, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) reported that yellow-fleshed peaches from California were recalled due to possible contamination with salmonella.
The peaches were shipped worldwide, affecting 16 countries with this recall. 78 cases of illnesses caused by Salmonella Enteritidis were reported to health authorities.
