SkinMicrobiomeAndCosmetics–PublicationDGK
The specialist group for microbiology and industrial hygiene of the German Society for Scientific and Applied Cosmetics e.V. (DGK) regularly sheds light on various issues related to microbiology and hygiene. The latest publication deals with the relationship between cosmetics and the skin microbiome.
The publication provides an overview of the current state of knowledge. Terms such as probiotics, postbiotics, and prebiotics are explained in more detail in relation to cosmetics.
Questions that need to be considered for probiotics include:
- Do the microorganisms used proliferate in the product?
- How does the preservation of the product affect the microorganisms used?
- Are there general changes in product stability?
Do you have questions about the microbiological analysis of your products? Do you need support regarding compliance with the requirements of Regulation (EC) 1223/2009 or ISO 17516?
Please feel free to call us, we look forward to your message!
