Special Edition Cosmetics Part 10: New Standard on Microbiological Limits for Cosmetics - ISO 17516

As described in our previous newsletters, there have been numerous innovations regarding microbiological requirements in the cosmetics industry in recent years.

Particularly noteworthy in this context is the GMP standard EN ISO 22176, which has gained legal status following the entry into force of the EU Cosmetics Regulation No. 1223/2009 and its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union. Furthermore, numerous ISO standards on microbiological methods and topics such as challenge tests, risk assessment, etc., have been published, reflecting the current technical state. Last but not least, the requirements of the IFS HPC Standard are also relevant for numerous companies in the industry.
