Stability testing and safety of cosmetics – Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009

Cosmetics must be safe and harmless for consumers. Safety includes sufficient stability.

This includes both microbiological stability (preservative efficacy test according to ISO 11930) and chemical-physical stability based on parameters such as pH value, density, viscosity, and sensory properties.

For each new product as well as for reformulated products, documentation and thus testing based on stability tests are necessary.

BAV Institute performs these stability tests quickly and reliably for you. We have the necessary experience in selecting suitable test parameters and test durations.

In doing so, we work according to ISO/TR 18811, recommendations of IKW or Cosmetics Europe, as well as the SCCS Notes of Guidance.
