StabilityTests

Stability tests and stability assessments of cosmetic products serve to demonstrate that they are safe, harmless, and stable for the consumer throughout their entire use and shelf life. The EU Cosmetics Regulation VO (EC) 1223/2009 requires this proof in the context of the safety report preparation.

For example, swing tests are used to check the stability of emulsions and to address questions such as "is there phase separation?" and "does anything settle?"

For each product, both the storage temperatures and storage times, as well as the scope of testing (microbiological, chemical, chemical-physical), must be individually determined.
