Stability tests of cosmetic products within the framework of Regulation (EC) 1223/2009
The verification of the stability of a cosmetic product is a central component of the safety report in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009. Part of this is the microbiological stability, which must be demonstrated through preservation efficacy testing (PET) (usually according to ISO 17516).
In addition, the chemical-physical stability and the stability concerning the packaging material used are crucial. For this, the BAV Institute supports you with appropriate analytical tests. The selection of test parameters is based, among other things, on:
- the formulation of the product
- data on the desired shelf life
- information on the packaging material
- empirical values from similar formulations
With the BAV Institute's results on PET and chemical-physical stability, you have all the necessary data that your safety assessor needs to evaluate stability.
Please feel free to contact us, we support you in all relevant questions on the topic of stability.
