Tightening of Food Controls - In BAV Newsletter 03/2017

On April 7th, 2017, the EU Parliament decided to tighten food controls throughout the entire food supply chain from producer to consumer. The new regulation (EU) 2017/625 has already come into force. However, there are transitional regulations of one to three years, so that it will generally be applicable from December 14th, 2019. 
Among other things, it aims to improve food traceability, combat fraud, and restore consumer confidence in the integrity of the food chain. We will report more extensively on this in the next newsletter. (Source: http://bit.ly/2oLWyJO)
