Marketability of cosmetic products

Cosmetic products that meet the requirements of the EU Cosmetics Regulation (EC) 1223/2009 are marketable in Germany and within the EU. For this, in addition to the preparation of a safety report by a safety assessor, a Product Information File (PIF) is also required. The PIF includes the description of the cosmetic product, contains the safety report, as well as the manufacturing method under the aspect of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). Furthermore, evidence of the claimed effects and data on animal testing conducted are included.

The BAV Institute and its Tentamus laboratory partners check the marketability of your cosmetic product. In addition to microbiological examinations according to DIN EN ISO 17516 and sensory testing, we check the relevant chemical and physico-chemical parameters for the respective product. Furthermore, the labeling of the cosmetic product is checked for compliance with labeling regulations as well as proof of claims made in advertisements.
