Triman Logo: Commission sues France

Since January 2025, products sold in France that are recyclable must be marked with the so-called Triman logo. This applies to packaging made of paper and plastic, but also to those made of glass and metal. The regulation therefore applies, among other things, to pre-packaged cosmetic products and food.

In July 2025, the European Commission sued France before the European Court of Justice because of this special regulation. The reason is the restriction on the free movement of goods and the disproportionateness of this measure.

Until the final court decision, products in France must continue to be marked with the Triman logo.
