The European Court of Justice (ECJ) has published a court ruling that allows food manufacturers to use bacteriophages on food to combat listeria (https://www.presseportal.de/pm/137472/4412669).

In the USA, Listex was already rated as the first phage product against listeria as "generally recognized as safe" (GRAS) in 2016 and approved by the FDA as a processing aid. Since then, phages have been an important precautionary tool for the industry on all continents.
