Detection of Declared, Value-Adding Active Ingredients in Cosmetics
Cosmetics are often advertised with value-giving ingredients, where the percentage content in the product is explicitly stated, which can certainly be an incentive for consumers to purchase. Hyaluronic acid, panthenol, tocopherol (vitamin E), allantoin, niacinamide, coenzyme Q10, glycerin, and urea are some examples of this.
Advertising claims made for cosmetic products must comply with the provisions of the Regulation on Claims (Regulation (EU) No 655/2013). According to the annex of this regulation, these claims are subject to veracity, which means that a value-giving active ingredient must be present in the product (in the appropriate concentration) when a (percentage) claim is made.
The BAV Institute and its Tentamus laboratory partners conduct the corresponding tests for you, check the content of active substances used, and thus ensure the quality of your cosmetic products. Whether these tests are conducted within the framework of formulation development, stability testing, or release testing, the verification is carried out using the most modern measurement methods.
Of course, we also test other substances for you. Do not hesitate to contact us - we will be happy to provide you with an offer.
