In France, 8 people have fallen ill with botulism. The cause of the dangerous food poisoning was olive or tomato paste from a regional manufacturer. The affected tapenades include olives, basil, dried tomatoes, peppers, anchovies, tuna, chickpeas, and artichokes. The small business, which was not reported to the authorities, conducted neither self-monitoring nor was it inspected by the regulatory authorities. Link to the report
