What should be particularly considered when creating safety reports?
For the creation of a Cosmetic Product Safety Report (CPSR), there is a clear catalog of requirements. This is listed in Annex I of Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009.
In practice, the following points are particularly important:
- A complete quantitative composition of the product, including possible information on compound raw materials and pre-preservations
- Information on the perfume used, including the indication of declarable fragrances and IFRA certificate
- Proof of suitability of the packaging material used
- Correct labeling and sufficient proof for advertising claims
It should be noted that the safety report is the most important component of the Product Information File (PIF). This file must be managed and kept up to date by the responsible person. It must be presented to the authorities upon request.
