Working Group on Cosmetic Products of the Food Chemical Society under the leadership of the BAV Institute

Effective immediately, Dr. Bernhard Fellenberg from the BAV Institute will take over as chairman of the Working Group on Cosmetic Products, leading this expert committee. This working group consists of members from consulting, legislation, industry, monitoring, and universities. Current topics in the development, manufacturing, and monitoring of cosmetic products are discussed.

In addition to statements on questions regarding the preservation of cosmetic products, the so-called GDCh data sheets on various cosmetic ingredients (active substances) are particularly well-known. These include, among others, data sheets on

• Allantoin
• Urea
• Panthenol
• Vitamin E (Tocopherol)
• Niacinamide (Vitamin B3)

These data sheets are continuously updated and supplemented and serve as an assessment aid in the evaluation of cosmetic products according to Regulation (EC) 1223/2009.
