The zoonosis monitoring 2010 showed a similar level of contamination for turkey meat with Campylobacter (17.3%) and Salmonella (5.5%) as in the previous year. A total of 8,180 samples from production facilities, slaughterhouses, and retail were tested for Salmonella spp., Campylobacter spp., verotoxin-producing E. coli (VTEC), Listeria monocytogenes, and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
