Öko-Test June 2022: Beer contaminated with glyphosate, partially conspicuous sensory characteristics

Öko-Test tested 50 pilsner beers for contaminants and taste. The result: 45 beers are recommended, two products fail the test.

Traces of glyphosate were detected in twelve beers. Glyphosate is a pesticide suspected of being carcinogenic. More information about glyphosate is very well explained on the BfR homepage.

The sensory experts commissioned by Öko-Test criticized slight off-flavors in ten beers.
