        Current recalls due to listeria
Currently, both cheese (Mozzarella) and sausages are being recalled on lebensmittelwarnung.de because listeria were detected during investigations.
Listeria are widespread in the environment and can be detected on plants, in sewage systems, and in the stool of healthy and sick animals. They are commonly found in raw foods (e.g., meat, poultry, milk, vegetables, fish, and seafood) but are also significant in processed foods (e.g., meat products, smoked fish products, mixed salads).
These bacteria can cause very serious illnesses especially in pregnant women, infants, the elderly, and sick people. The proportion of deaths is relatively high among these individuals.
At the BAV Institute, we conduct testing for listeria regularly. We provide you with fast and reliable results and are happy to advise you on all matters related to product safety. Our customer advisors are happy to assist you with any questions.
