Lip balms in Eco-Test
A total of 21 lip care sticks with UV protection were examined more closely in the current edition of the magazine Ökotest. However, some care sticks contain questionable UV filters. Contaminations with mineral oil components were also detected.
Four products received top marks. Nine lip care sticks were rated as "poor" or failed the test with "inadequate".
Which product properties and ingredients led to downgrading? Essentially, these were:
- UV filters such as titanium dioxide (TiO2), homosalate, ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate
- Halogenated organic compounds
- Contaminations with mineral oil hydrocarbons (MOAH)
The BAV Institute and its Tentamus laboratory partners conduct testing for you on all the parameters mentioned above using the latest methods. Many other parameters are part of our portfolio.
