New labeling requirements for cosmetic wet wipes from July 2021
With the Regulation (EU) 2020/2151, there are new labeling requirements for certain plastic products. In addition to regulations for sanitary items, tobacco products, and beverage cups, cosmetic wet wipes are also affected.
These wet wipes must be labeled with an icon that includes the phrase "Plastic in product." Detailed specifications for where and in what size the icon should be placed are described in the regulation text. This information must be provided in the respective national language.
The regulation implements Directive (EU) 2019/904 of the Parliament on the reduction of the impact of certain plastic products on the environment regarding labeling.
The new regulations are valid from July 3, 2021.
