In the November issue of the magazine "Öko-Test", a total of 50 night creams are examined in detail. 30 of these products explicitly feature a promotional claim for "anti-aging", while the remaining 20 do not.

In principle, night creams differ from day creams by usually having a higher fat content and omitting certain substances, e.g., UV protective substances. Of the 50 products tested, 19 received a rating of "very good" or "good", 16 products received a "satisfactory", and the other products achieved at most a rating of "sufficient".

Factors leading to a downgrade included, among others:

-       Certain preservatives such as propylparaben and halogenated organic compounds

-       Synthetic musk scent Galaxolide and the fragrance Cinnamal

-       Petroleum derivatives and mineral oil components (MOSH/MOAH)

-       PEG and PEG derivatives

-       No studies to substantiate the "anti-aging" claim according to the Claims Regulation 655/2013.

-       Labeling and batch information for these products

The BAV Institute, part of the international Tentamus Laboratory Group, tests all Öko-Test relevant parameters for you and ensures the quality of your products according to the requirements of Regulation (EC) 1223/2009.
