As a cause of gastrointestinal diseases, salmonellae play a significant role worldwide. Common carriers of salmonellae are especially poultry meat, eggs, and pork.

Due to the detection of salmonellae, the official recall of various spices and spice mixes has now also been prompted. The publication also took place via the website lebensmittelwarnung.de.
