Cosmetic Notifications March 2021 from the EU Rapid Alert System - Safety Gate
In March 2021, the following warnings were reported in the rapid alert system Safety Gate for the product category cosmetics:
Microbiological findings:
- Detection of Pseudomonas spp. and significantly increased germ count, non-compliance with ISO 17516
- Significantly increased number of yeasts
Chemical findings
- Detection of 2-Hydroxy-1,4-naphthoquinone, risk of skin irritation
- Increased level of lead
- Detection of Clobetasol Propionate (corticosteroid)
- Excessive level of hydroquinone
All products do not meet the requirements of the European Cosmetics Regulation (EC) 1223/2009 due to the findings and have been withdrawn from the market.
