Wind and weather creams tested by Öko-Test
In the current issue November 2021 of the Öko-Test magazine, a total of 21 so-called wind and weather creams were tested for ingredients and potential residues and contaminants. All products are for children's products.
Almost all products (18 out of 21) received the rating very good or good, with only one being rated inadequate and one insufficient.
Due to the following ingredients and information, a downgrade by one or two levels occurred:
- Mineral oils (MOSH/MOAH)
- Butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT)
- Paraffins and PEG/PEG derivatives
- Lack of labeling (indication of nano for an ingredient is missing)
The BAV Institute in conjunction with the international laboratory group Tentamus provides comprehensive analytical support for all your questions. This includes not only testing for potential chemical residues but also examining the microbiological quality of cosmetics according to ISO 17516.
We are also available for all questions regarding regulatory issues under Regulation (EC) 1223/2009 as well as labeling inquiries. We look forward to hearing from you!
